Promoted Work: Rafał Karcz
There is something Kali-esque about the work of Rafał Karcz and your first impression of it is "What the fuck is going on here?". It's like listening to Nirvana's Radio Friendly Unit Shifter - it makes you a little uneasy but it's hard not to be moved by it's raw energy.
I love work like this, it's a reminder that sometimes art is not all about making something nice and meaningful because often life is incoherent, impenetrable and a little dark. There is the spirit of youth and chaos in his images.
Rafał Karcz is a Polish artist from Krakow - you can find a collection of his new works on his Facebook page - RAFAŁ KARCZ EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY - go check it out and leave comments and 'likes' on the work you dig.
I also love his painting:
Julia V by Lena Modigh
Constance Jablonski by Kacper Kasprzyk for Cover Magazine
Alison Van Pelt - Light Grey Nude
In the video, she makes it look so easy. From experience, I can tell you that it is not - it's the illusion created by a sure hand. Painting is the hardest thing in the world.
