Promoted Work: Michael Barolet – Silver and Carbon
“Unlike so many nude photographs that get shown, my photographs are not about being nude. My photographs are about the people in the photograph. Without clothing, there is nothing for them to hide behind. There is nothing for them to be classified by. They are who they are. And that is beautiful.”
Michael Barolet is having his exhibition Silver and Carbon @ Create Studios in Brighton, England.
Michael shoots intimate portraits of his homeland, family and his closest friends. His photographs are left unfiltered with no post processing; his goal is to get an unmodified and unadulterated view of life.
The show opens on 1 August. If you are not in the United Kingdom, I recommend visiting his site; he's a fantastic photographer.
For those that are able to go to the exhibition, the gallery can be found here:
Promoted Work: Models in the Morning - Photo Tour
Models in the Morning is the brainchild of photographer and filmmaker Asher Moss. Asher captures models in their most stripped down moment: first thing in the morning, before the clothes and the make-up. His style is very natural and very analogue (he still shoots with film).
Asher has been renovating a sixties trailer and restoring a 1970 Ford pickup truck with a dream of taking his project on the road. He is offering some great rewards for your support and, most importantly, he is building a backers only platform to follow the intimate details of the trip (open to all backers, even if it's just $1).
I've put my money down to get a look at the short films that will accompany each model's shoot; it's a great idea.
