Promoted Work: Jennifer Medina

Jennifer Medina is a young photographer that moves between New York, Los Angeles and Florida. As a non-American, I am not sure of those logistics but I get this feeling that her work, while capturing the youth of these cities, also pushes against their influence - her pale figures aren't very LA; the grain of her film doesn't have the sharpness of New York; her desaturated palate doesn't have the neon of Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers.

The result is photography with a very personal voice and some very endearing photographs of kids doing shit that kids do.

Her main site is here and her visual diary is here;  they are worth following.

Promoted Work: Max Montalban Exhibition

Max Montalban has been featured on this site before. Some of his more provocative imagery is certainly a very good fit but he also touches on some of the more difficult aspects of life.

If you live in Mexico, please support this exhibition; if you are outside (as most of my readers are) I invite you to follow his tumblr and get a taste of what it's like living on the edge.
